Author: Mathis Wackernagel Born and raised in Switzerland, Mathis Wackernagel earned his Ph.D. in Community and Regional Planning from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, and a mechanical engineering degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. Coordinator for the Centro de Estudios para la Sustentabilidad (Centre for Sustainability Studies) at the Universidad Anáhuac de Xalapa in Mexico. (Apartado Postal 653, 91000 Xalapa, Ver. Mexico); Director of the Indicators Program at Redefining Progress based in San Francisco, USA. Dr. Wackernagel has lectured numerous community groups, NGOs, and at more
than 70 universities in 17 countries. He has authored, or contributed to, over
two dozen academic articles and, with William Rees, authored the landmark text,
Our Ecological Footprint: Reducing human impact on Earth, New
Society Publishers, 1996. |
