| United States Population Growth: the Numbers
The associated graph depicts three Census 2000 population scenarios. (For a brief discussion of the arithmetic of growth, see Authors: Albert Bartlett, "Arithmetic and Population" and Dell Erickson, "Pond Lilly".) Minnesotans —all Americans, should select a point on the graph they feel is their vision for the future nation and to establish a comprehensive population policy consistent with that vision. According to knowledgeable authorities, current population polices are inconsistent with a sustainable nation. Proposals to achieve a sustainable U.S. population are also seen. MFS encourages all visitors to support the population policies of their choosing. |
