Census 2000 Population Projection Assumptions
High:
The current rate of U.S. fertility and immigration is generally consistent with the high Census projection. (Note, the Highest Series forecasts a population over 1.6 billion.)
Middle:
Assume similar fertility as today and one-fourth to one-third lower immigration.
Low:
Assumes slightly reduced fertility and little immigration.

3.)  Excludes the 5,606,000 Census count of additional illegal aliens (281,422 - 275,816).

* The large increase in 2000 actual from the projection is
